Petrol Prices Remain Over ₹80 in Delhi, ₹88.26/Lt in Mumbai

A day after the country witnessed Bandhs against the rising fuel prices, the prices again went up on Tuesday.

A day after the country witnessed Bandhs against the rising fuel prices, petrol and diesel prices again went up on Tuesday.

Petrol crossed the Rs 88 mark in Mumbai while staying above Rs 80 in Delhi. In New Delhi, the fuel prices on Tuesday were ₹ 80.87, in Kolkata petrol was being sold at ₹ 83.75 a litre, in Mumbai for ₹ 88.26 and at ₹ 84.07 in Chennai. These prices are according to the largest fuel retailer in the country, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

According to India Today, in Parbhani, a city located in the eastern Maharashtra, petrol is being sold at Rs 90.05 per litre.

Diesel, on the other hand, is being sold at a rate of ₹ 72.97/litre in New Delhi, ₹ 77.47/litre in Mumbai, ₹ 72.97 in Kolkata and ₹ 77.15/litre in Chennai.

It is to note that the prices still continue to soar even after nationwide Bandh called by the Congress on Monday led to massive protests against the rising fuel prices.

In fact, according to the India Today report, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to roll back petrol and diesel prices by ₹ 2/litre. Rajasthan had also reduced the taxes on both, diesel and petrol.
