As if his suggestion of making cow the national animal was not enough, the Rajasthan High Court judge, Justice Mahesh Sharma, has gone a step further to justify his ruling. How?
By erroneously explaining how peacocks don't have sex!
In an interview with CNN-News18, this is what he said:
According to him, the cow, like the peacock, also scores high on the pious meter, and he listed several of its qualities to highlight this:
A cow is useful even after its death. It’s urine, feces, milk and bones are all useful.Justice Mahesh Sharma
The judge also cited how the cow has the status of a national animal in Nepal.
In the interview, he also said that his verdict has made reference to the Vedas, Ramayana and the Gita.
And his call for cow to be made the national animal came straight from the heart.
‘Sound of The Soul’ Calling For Cow to be Made The National Animal
On being asked why his ruling (on cow being made the national animal) should be followed across the country, this is what Justice Sharma had to say:
Incidentally, Sharma was supposed to retire as a judge on Wednesday itself.
And Then Came The Twitter Reactions
