Man Crushed To Death In Stampede Outside Bank
A 65-year-old man was trampled to death outside a bank while standing in a queue to withdraw cash, police told PTI on Tuesday.
Ramnath Kushwaha, a resident of Gulriha village, was caught in a stampede outside the State Bank of India branch on Monday. He was trampled by a crowd who had gathered to withdraw cash, SP Mohd Imran said.
He had gone to withdraw money to make payments to a hospital, where his pregnant daughter-in-law was admitted, the officer said.
Kushwaha was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, the SP said.

RBI eased the conditions for cash withdrawal for the purpose of celebration of weddings. One has to provide a detailed list of people to whom the cash withdrawn is to be paid. People who don’t have a bank account have to submit a declaration for payment of Rs 10,000 or more.
The list should also indicate the purpose for which the proposed payments are being made.
The limit of semi-closed Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPIs) was enhanced to Rs 20,000 from Rs 10,000.
Rs 2,000 Can Now Be Withdrawn From Big Bazaar
People can now withdraw Rs 2,000 from Big Bazaar using their debit cards from 24 November, making it a little easier on people who have been queueing up in front of ATMs.
The government also extended the waiver of the airport parking fees up to 28 November.
RBI also issued an advisory to banks asking them to ensure adequate cash supply to DCCBs and Regional Rural Banks for disbursement of crop loans to farmers.
The Finance Ministry announced that old currency notes will not be allowed to make deposits in small savings schemes any longer.
