One woman was also injured in the firing.

Pakistan, initiating the attack, resorted to unprovoked targeting of the Indian positions on the LoC in Bhimber Gali sector of Jammu and Kashmir, Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta said.

Ceasefire violations were also reported in Balakote in Poonch district and Rajouri's Manjakote. The District Collector has ordered to shut all schools close to LoC in Rajouri district. Ceasefire was also violated in Uri, where one jawan was injured.

"The indiscriminate firing using small arms, automatics and mortars that started from 7.30 am is still on," Mehta told IANS.

The Indian Army was retaliating strongly and effectively, he added.
