The office of the Pakistan Prime Minister has confirmed that the offices of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JEM) group are being traced and sealed and several members of the organisation have been arrested following initial investigations into the Pathankot air base attack, together with the information provided by India.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Pakistan also released a statement on Wednesday saying that it will send a special team to the Pathankot air base in India to investigate into the deadly terrorist assault.
Statement from the Pakistan Prime Minister’s OfficeIn the spirit of cooperative approach, it was decided that in order to carry the process forward, additional information would be required, for which the government of Pakistan is considering to send a Special Investigation Team to Pathankot, in consultation with the government of India.
Earlier, New Delhi had shared with Islamabad evidence on the Pathankot attackers’ purported links to Pakistan.
