Pakistan Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was frisked by security at the the John F Kennedy International airport in New York, while on a private visit to the country.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Abbasi can be seen wearing his belt and collecting his coat, that he was reportedly asked to take off for standard security check. According to Pakistan media house Geo News, Abbasi was visiting the United States without any security protocol.
He is then seen dragging his suitcase to the escalators.
While reports suggest that he was on a private visit, the Pakistan media has bashed the United States, calling it a humiliation of the Prime Minister. Certain media reports have also bashed Abbasi for not following the security protocol while visiting the country.
The ties between Pakistan and US have strained since Donald Trump took over as the US President and restricted aid to Pakistan on grounds of the country’s alleged support to terror and Islamist groups.
The US has also expressed concerns over Pakistan’s alleged nuclear prowess.
