No one wants to eat pakoras and no, the weather isn’t romantic – commuters have had enough of the torrential rains.

But it’s not just the Dilliwallahs who have been suffering.

Bengaluru has also been receiving heavy rainfall, causing the lakes to overflow and roads to flood.

The overflowing of the Bellandur lake is making life miserable for the residents of Yemalur, a village located between the Bengaluru airport and the lake.

Gurugram’s Bengaluru counterpart, Electronic City, and several arterial roads like Hosur Main Road are also flooded after the city received heavy rainfall on Thursday night and Friday morning.

The Hulimavu, Arekere area near Bannerghatta road, Bommanahalli-Silkboard and Bellandur are among the worst hit areas in Bengaluru.

The Bellandur lake has began frothing again this year. The lake frothing was reported in April last year, after which, the degree of the frothing as well as the health issues it posed has seen an increase. The froth had even caught fire, in May last year. The city faces the same hazards this year.
