The auction of late gangster Iqbal Mirchi’s properties in Mumbai on Tuesday was unsuccessful, as there were no bidders who turned up for the auction of the two properties.
The auction was to be conducted by the revenue department at the premises of Competent Authority in Mumbai’s Nariman Point. It was to be done under the provisions of SAFEMA - the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act.
The Finance Ministry had earlier issued a notice to auction the two properties in Mumbai’s Santacruz.
The properties that were supposed to go under the hammer are flat numbers 501 and 502 at Milton Apartments CHS Ltd in Juhu. Society records show that both the flats are around 1,245 sq ft.
