Former Bihar health minister Tej Pratap Yadav has vacated the government bungalow allotted to him saying CM Nitish Kumar had unleashed ghosts in it, reported NDTV.

Yadav, who is the elder son of Rashtriya janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad, was allotted the bungalow at 3 Deshratna Marg before the Janata Dal United (JD(U))-RJD-Congress alliance collapsed in the state. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar later formed the government in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

I decided to vacate the bungalow because Nitish and deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi had released ghosts in it. The ghosts were haunting me.

The JD(U) slammed Yadav’s comments calling it a publicity gimmick. It also said that Yadav is suffering from acute attention deficiency and is trying to compete with his younger brother Tejaswi who is hogging the limelight, reported NDTV.

Reportedly, some former RJD ministers had moved the Patna High Court against the state government's order that asked them to move out in October last year. The court stayed the government's order, after which the government had asked the occupants to pay rent at market rates. Those who have stayed put are yet to comply with the order.

(The Quint, in association with BitGiving, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for an 8-month-old who was raped in Delhi on 28 January 2018. The baby girl, who we will refer to as 'Chhutki', was allegedly raped by her 28-year-old cousin when her parents were away. She has been discharged from AIIMS hospital after undergoing three surgeries, but needs more medical treatment in order to heal completely. Her parents hail from a low-income group and have stopped going to work so that they can take care of the baby. You can help cover Chhutki's medical expenses and secure her future. Every little bit counts. Click here to donate.)
