Nine Naxals and two police personnel were killed in an encounter between ultras and security men in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday, 26 November.

Two District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel were killed in the exchange of fire, the SP said.
A huge cache of weapons has also been recovered from the site, ANI reported.
DM Awasthi, special DG, anti-Naxal operations, said the DRG team reached Sakler on Monday morning and the encounter started around 9:40 am.
“It continued for around one and a half hours. Dozens of Naxals have probably been killed. Nine bodies of Naxals have been recovered. Two Naxals were carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh… Arms, ammunition and IEDs have been recovered. We had information that Naxals threw some weapons in a pond near Sakler also. The forces tried to recover the weapons and entered the pond also. During this, Naxals again opened fire in the afternoon and two DRG jawans lost their lives.”DM Awasthi, as quoted by ANI
Awasthi added that 1,200 security personnel from the STF, DRG, CRPF’s CoBRA and special teams from Telangana took part in ‘Operation Prahar-4’, launched on Sunday, 25 November, in Battalion 1 area of Saletong, Bade Kedwal, Sakler and nearby regions.
