Narendra Modi addressed his first press conference – or did he?
In his first face-to-face with the media, the prime minister on Friday, 17 May, addressed the media – and left it at that.
‘Not Press Conference, But Press Appearance’
The prime minister did not take a single question from the media in the 40-minute press conference, and instead left Amit Shah to answer all of them.
Twitter was left wondering whose press conference was it anyway!
‘The Real Press Conference’
Congress President Rahul Gandhi, too, briefed the media at the same time when the prime minister’s press conference was underway.
Many Twitter users called Gandhi’s briefing the “real press conference” as he directly took questions from the media.
