Three years after he went missing, JNU student Najeeb Ahmed’s mother has decided to lead a march to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence on 15 October, the day Najeeb went missing in 2016, The Print reported on Friday, 4 October.

Fatima Nafees, who hasn’t given up her fight to locate her missing son, will be accompanied by Rajni Singh, wife of inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, who was killed by a mob in Bulandshahr in December 2018.

A United Against Hate (UAH) activist told the website that the march will also include family members of Tabrez Ansari, who was killed by a mob in June and the kin of Gauri Lankesh, who was shot dead in September 2017.

At a press conference organised at the Press Club in New Delhi, Fatima said she had used up all her savings in trying to locate her son. She was detained by the Delhi police in October 2017 while protesting outside the Delhi High Court.

While addressing the press conference, she also said that the police has been cheating since the first day.

At the meeting, Fatima touched upon BJP leader Kapil Mishra’s tweet alleging that Najeeb has joined ISIS. She said that the news organisations have all done their part in defaming Najeeb along similar lines and threatened to file a defamation suit against Mishra if he doesn’t apologise soon.
