With the festive spirit at its peak, Mumbaikars are all ready to welcome Ganpati Bappa on 2 September and celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.

Mumbai’s most famous Ganesh Pandal, ‘Lalbaugcha Raja’ unveiled its first look on Friday, 30 August. The most revered idol of Ganesha in the entire city, the theme of Lalbaugcha Raja this year celebrates India’s space achievement.

The theme chosen for this year is the launch of Chandrayaan-2, India’s second lunar exploration mission.

Giving it a contemporary feel, the first look of Ganpati shows a dynamic backdrop featuring a video clips of ISRO's Chandrayaan launch and the solar system.

Adding to that, two artificial astronauts can be seen around the idol while a lunar rover dangles in front of the statue, reported NDTV.
