After witnessing torrential downpour and floods through the day on Tuesday, Mumbaikars showed that despite the hardships, basic human decency was not lost yet.
Several people throughout the city opened up their homes and offices to people stranded on roads, to provide them food, shelter, clean clothes and water. It even began to trend on Twitter as #RainHosts.
From corporations to slum dwellers, Mumbai’s citizens offered hospitality to all those in need of it, with offers for free rides and free chai.
There were numerous tweets with offers to help those stranded. Even OYO and OLA opened their doors for free shelter and ride.
All in all, the rains brought out the best out of Mumbai’s citizens.
People even complied a list of the people offering help to others.
Companies did not shy away from being helpful either.
