After Shiv Sena and BJP mutually decided that as of now there will be no alliance in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Sena will retain all posts of chairman of statuary and other committees.
On Monday, Sena corporators Yashvant Jadhav, Sadanand Parab and Anjali Naik have filed their nomination for Standing Committee, Improvement Committee and Education Committee, respectively.

2. Why Aarey, Not Other Sites For Metro-3 Car Shed: SC To MMRCL
Why were sites other than the green lung of Aarey Colony not chosen for the Metro-3 car shed, the Supreme Court asked the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) on Monday, taking up an issue that has been at the centre of protests by citizens and environmentalists who have been against the development. The Supreme Court has given the Metro authority a week to respond.
A bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Sanjiv Khanna was hearing a special leave petition (SLP) filed by Amrita Bhattacharjee and Biju Augustine from the Aarey Conservation Group.

3. ‘Non-Extension Of Contracts’: 14 Guwahati Faculty Members Announce Mass Leave, TISS Board To Meet Today
After 14 faculty members of the Guwahati campus of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) announced a mass leave from April 1 citing non-extension of their contracts, members of the institute’s governing board and other stakeholders are scheduled to hold a meeting at its Mumbai campus Tuesday, sources told The Indian Express.
While confirming that a meeting has been scheduled, TISS director Shalini Bharat denied there was any urgency behind it. “A meeting of the governing board is scheduled at various intervals — once in three months or so — and there is nothing unusual about the meeting to be held tomorrow,” Bharat said.

4. Mumbai Apartment Of Dawood’s Sister Haseena Parkar Auctioned For ₹1.80cr
A flat in Nagpada belonging to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, the late Haseena Parkar, was auctioned for ₹1.80 crore on Monday. The 800 sqft apartment was bought by a private buyer, whose identity was withheld.
The Centre had taken over the flat in March, as none of Parkar’s relatives could prove that she had purchased it legally. Parkar died of a heart attack in 2014.

5. Leopard Cub Rescued From Mumbai Suburb
A leopard cub which had entered a residential building called Woodland Crest in Marol, a Mumbai suburb on Monday morning, was rescued by forest officials after four hours of struggle.
The big cat was first spotted in the adjoining building, Woodland Avenue, around 9.30 a.m. “I was taking a photo of the car, when I saw a creature, who I assumed was a stray dog. When I tried to shoo it away, the creature came out, and then I realised that it was a leopard,” Suresh Shinde, a resident of the building, said.
