1. Woman, Infant Found Dead On Railway Tracks At Nalasopara
The bodies of a young woman and an infant were found on railway tracks along the Western Line.
A case of accidental death was filed by the Vasai Government Railway Police (GRP). The bodies were found on the tracks between the Virar and Nalasopara railway stations.
While the relationship between the deceased has not been established, the woman, who was in her early 20's, could have been the baby's mother.

2. Yuva Sena Sweeps MU Senate Polls
The Yuva Sena, the Shiv Sena’s youth wing, has won all 10 seats in the registered graduates bloc of Mumbai University’s Senate polls. MU announced the results on Thursday after two days of counting.
Of 10 seats, five were reserved for the open category while one was for women, one for Scheduled Caste, one for Scheduled Tribe, one for Nomadic Tribe, and one for Other Backward Classes candidates.

3. Three Jailed for Helping ISI Agent Secure Indian Ids 13 Years Ago
Thirteen years after an ISI agent was nabbed from Colaba by the special cell of the Delhi police, a magistrate court on Thursday sentenced three persons, who helped the Pakistani national secure Indian IDs using forged documents, to four years prison.
According to the prosecution, the three men, identified as Sayyed Haider Raja, Laik Khan and Rajendra Mishra, helped Azar Rafiq make fake documents, which he then successfully used to apply for a driving licence, ration card, passport and also opening a bank account.

4. Post-Elphinstone Stampede Safety Audit: 218 Rogue Railway Stalls To Be Removed
Following a safety audit of over 500 commercial establishments in railway premises, the Government Railway Police (GRP) has asked agencies to take action against 218 stalls, including 133 in Mumbai city, for violating rules. GRP commissioner Niket Kaushik sent letters to the railways, BMC and other agencies some days ago regarding the same.
Kaushik confirmed the letters have been sent to various government agencies and said the survey was done because the safety of the passengers is important. The GRP officials started the audit at Dombivli station a week ago and found four stalls either operating without a valid licence or having a licence but being run by another operator. After this, GRP started the audit for the Mumbai metropolitan region.

5. From Today, Mumbaiites Can Take Harbour Trains From Goregaon
Goregaon residents don’t have to board harbour local trains from Andheri any longer. The reason: the railways will start the extended harbour line services from Goregaon from Thursday. This comes after a delay of four years.
As many as 49 local train services will run daily on the line, which will connect to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Panvel stations.
The service will be inaugurated by chief minster Devendra Fadnavis and railway minister Piyush Goyal.

6. Saki Naka Vendor Kidnapped for Five Hours, Assaulted by Trio
Mumbai police have booked three men for allegedly kidnapping, assaulting and trying to extort money from a 28-year-old vendor in Powai. The police said two accused were arrested on Tuesday as they kidnapped the complainant for around five hours on Saturday, during which the trio allegedly tied his hands and legs and assaulted him at Aarey jungle with their belts.
The victim identified as Satyakumar Jogindar Mehta, who has been working as a vendor at Sakivihar Road in Powai since the last six years, was allegedly kidnapped by the trio from his stall on Saturday. Mehta in his complaint identified the accused as Mahesh Chavan and Abbu Ansari while the third accused was rickshaw driver Vinay Prasad in which the complainant was allegedly kidnapped.

7. Mega Demolition Drive to Hit Matheran in April
Decks have been cleared for the demolition of some of the famous hotels, resorts, and VVIP bungalows in Matheran, the hill station in Raigad district and one of Mumbaikars’ favourite holiday destinations.
Officials from the Matheran Municipal Council and the Raigad Collectorate said the demolitions were likely to start within three weeks. Confirming that 428 illegal structures in Matheran will be demolished, the Raigad district collector, Vijay Suryawanshi, told Mirror that he had asked the Matheran Municipal Council chairperson to submit a schedule so that adequate police security can be provided at the demolition sites.

8. Two Held for ‘Changing’ Old Bikes With Newer Models
Police Crime Branch arrested two men on Wednesday who would allegedly offer to “change” old bikes to newer models in exchange for commission. The police said once they got the old bikes, they would scout for a newer two-wheeler of the same model and steal it. Then they would replace the registration and chassis of the newer bike with the older one and give it to the owner of the old two-wheeler. In the process, they would earn money from the client, the old bike’s owner, and also get money by selling off the old motorcycle.

9. Bariatric Surgeon Accuses 6 Docs of Extortion, Sexual Harassment
A well-known bariatric surgeon from Pune has filed an FIR against six other doctors, all equally renowned bariatric surgeons from different parts of the country. The complainant surgeon, who is known to have treated several politicians, has alleged that the six bariatric surgeons assaulted her, insulted her modesty, tried to extort money from her, intimidated her, and maligned her image.
The victim, an extremely soughtafter doctor, has levelled allegations against Delhi-based Dr Pradeep Chowbey, 65, Dr Rajesh Khullar, 58, and Dr Atul Peters, 50; Hyderabad based Dr Surendra Ugale, 60; Mumbai-based Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, 47; and Pune-based Dr Shrihari Dhorepatil, 65. The six have been booked under Sections 385, 323, 509, 500, 506 and 34 of the IPC by the Samarth police station.

10. Businessman Held For Touching Air Hostess Inappropriately
A 62-year-old Pune businessman has been arrested on a complaint of sexual harassment lodged against him by a cabin crewmember of the Air Vistara, Lucknow-Delhi flight on March 24, the police said on Wednesday.
Confirming the incident, an Air Vistara spokesperson said, "We have reported the matter to the police and other relevant authorities. An FIR has been registered and the investigation is on."
