Actress Tanushree Dutta in her statement to the Oshiwara police on Wednesday, 10 October, alleged that she was threatened with false police and court cases after she spoke out against her alleged molestation on the sets of Horn OK Pleassss in 2008.

The police after recording her statement for more than four hours registered an FIR against veteran actor Nana Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, film director Rakesh Sarang and producer Samee Siddique. Tanushree had filed a written complaint regarding the matter on 6 October.

2. Sohrabuddin ‘Encounter’ Case: 2 Investigators Depose Before CBI Court

In the Sohrabuddin Shaikh alleged fake encounter case, two investigators deposed before the special CBI court on Thursday, 11 October. One of them, A M Patel had investigated the encounter of Tulsiram Prajapati, Sohrabuddin’s associate, initially when he was posted as a police inspector at the Ambaji police station in 2006.

3. Osho’s ‘Fake’ Will: Bombay HC Accepts ‘C Summary’ Report by EOW, Disposes off Petition

The Bombay High Court on Thursday, 11 October, said it was not inclined to entertain the petition alleging that the will of spiritual leader Osho Rajneesh was fake, in the view of ‘C summary’ report filed by the investigation agency.

The court was hearing the petition filed by Yogesh Thakkar, a disciple of Osho, alleging that the will, which came up 23 years after Osho’s death was fake.

4. Prime Suspect in BJP Activist’s Murder Held

The police on Thursday, 11 October, detained a man from Latur in connection with the murder of the 38-year old BJP activist from Nallasopara, Rupali Chavan, whose body with multiple injuries, including burns, was found in her flat on Tuesday, 9 October, morning, two days after she was allegedly killed.

5. Sharad Pawar Calls Party Meet for LS Polls

NCP president Sharad Pawar has called a meeting of senior leaders of the party’s Maharashtra unit on Friday to discuss candidates for next year’s Lok Sabha elections.

“He is keen to finalise or at least shortlist the candidates as early as possible so that preparations for the polls can start. Seat-sharing talks with the Congress are likely to be concluded soon. Except three or four seats which might be contentious, both parties know which seats they will contest,” the leader said

6. Maha to Supply Solar Pumps to 1 Lakh Farmers

After the farm loan waiver, the Maharashtra government has now announced an ambitious plan to supply solar-powered agricultural pumps at highly subsidised rates to one lakh farmers.

The big-ticket announcement — which comes in the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha polls — is being seen as the biggest populist measure by the state government since the farm loan waiver it had rolled out in June 2017.

7. Mumbai Branch of State Bank of Mauritius Loses Rs 143 Crore to Cyber Fraud

The Nariman Point branch of the State Bank of Mauritius last week filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW), saying cyber frauds siphoned off Rs 143 crore from its accounts.

According to the complaint filed on October 5, fraudsters hacked the bank’s servers to access the accounts and transferred the money to multiple accounts operated from out of India.
