1. Marine Drive To Be Secured Against Terror Car Attacks
The BMC is considering raising the height of the Marine Drive promenade, after the Mumbai Police asked the civic body to put in place barriers to ensure vehicles cannot access the 3.6-km long walkway.
The need for such precaution arises from a series of terror attacks in Europe, in which vehicles were used to mow down people in public places.
The most recent such attack was carried out in Spain on Thursday, when 15 people were killed and over a 100 suffered injuries after vehicles rammed into pedestrians in Barcelona’s busiest street -- the Las Ramblas Boulevard -- and at a resort town of Cambrils. At least 130 people have lost their lives since 2014 in Europe to vehicle-ramming attacks.
In Mumbai, a city no stranger to terror attacks, the iconic Marine Drive promenade is easily the most famous waterfront, with hundreds of people travelling from suburbs on weekends to enjoy a breezy evening and a meal at Girgaum Chowpatty.

6. Delay In Exam Results: HC Asks Maharashtra Govt, MU To Find Solution
The Bombay high court on Monday said that Maharashtra government and the University of Mumbai will have to sort out the issue of delay in declaring varsity exam results. "The situation is beyond control and court orders will not help," said a division bench of Justice Anoop Mohta and Justice Bharati Dangre. "Both the university and the state should come together to solve the issue," added the bench. The court made the remarks when a bunch of petitions filed by students over the delay in declaring exam results was mentioned before it seeking an urgent hearing. The bench scheduled the petitions for hearing on Tuesday.
One of the petitions was filed by 22-year-old Bandra resident and aspiring law student Sydyumna Nargolkar. He urged the court to restrain the authorities from going ahead with the law college admissions and declare the BA/BSc/BCom results. "As the Mumbai University has not declared the exam results, around 2,200 students from Mumbai will not be in a position to participate in the common admission process and will be able to do it only in the third round. By that time seats for most sought after law colleges would be filled by students from outside Mumbai," said senior advocate Mukesh Vashi.
