A (wo)man walks into a hospital, but is refused treatment by the nurse, because she has a Lavani jam session to attend. Unfortunately, this is not the beginning of a bad joke.
Diwaliben Mehta Hospital in Mumbai celebrated a cultural event on 2 March. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the annual event is usually hosted on the terrace of the hospital. But since the terrace was under renovation, the event had to be shifted to an appropriate venue. Naturally the hospital staff chose ... the Out Patient Department (OPD).
Here’s a video of the female staff members dancing to music blaring from loudspeakers.
The celebrations are over, but the health department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has now received an anonymous complaint about the 2 March event. To make matters worse for the hospital, the video above has been attached to the complaint.
NewsX reported that according to the complaint, only 300 patients were examined that day, as opposed to 800 on a usual day. The BMC has ordered an official inquiry against the staff of the hospital. Perhaps, only Munna Bhai M.B.B.S can get away with turning the OPD ward of the hospital into a discotheque.
