46-year-old Rajan Agarwal, a casting director from the entertainment industry in Mumbai was arrested on Sunday. Agarwal was arrested on the basis of a case filed by an actor who has alleged that she was tricked into shooting intimate scenes for an adult film, which was later uploaded online on YouTube and a porn site.
According to reports, in 2015, the 26-year-old actor was promised an important role in a web-series and she was told that the scenes being shot were to be used for it.
The actor lodged an FIR at the Oshiwara police station stating that she took up the offer since it looked promising for her career. The intimate scenes were shot at a house in Madh Island in 2015 and she was promised Rs 3000 for it.
As per a report in Hindustan Times, after the shoot, the casting director did not take calls from the actor and began avoiding her. In 2016, the actor got to know that the scenes shot at the Madh Island bungalow had been uploaded on YouTube and a few months later the same video appeared on a porn site as well. This is when the actor reported the matter to the police.
While the FIR was filed several months ago, Agarwal was arrested only on Sunday and the film’s director, Upendra Rai is currently absconding. Both Agarwal and Rai have been booked for molestation and publishing obscene materials and criminal intimidation.
