15 Killed, 6 Hurt After Tractor and Jeep Collide in MP’s Morena

At least fifteen people were killed and six others injured on Thursday, 21 June, when a tractor-trolley rammed into a jeep at a crossing in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district.

The sand-laden tractor-trolley hit the overloaded jeep carrying nearly 20 people of a family around 6 am at a crossroad near Ganjrampur village.

Twelve people were reported dead on the spot while three others succumbed to their injuries later in the day.

The victims, all from Gwalior district, were on their way to Ghurgan village for a condolence meeting, he said.

The driver of the tractor-trolley, which was carrying illegally-mined sand from the National Chambal Sanctuary, fled the spot after the accident, Amit Sanghi told PTI.

The police have registered a case against the driver and a probe has been launched.
