Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in an interview with Times Now, said there has not been a single lynching in his state after he came to power.
There has been no case of mob lynchings in Uttar Pradesh. Akhlaq lynching in Dadri happened long ago..the government during that time had created such a climate. Hapur lynching case happened due to internal conflict. We had initiated routine proceedings immediately after the case happenedYogi Adityanath, UP CM
The chief minister further said that mob lynchings cannot occur in Uttar Pradesh because the state has already ordered for all illegal slaughterhouses to be shut down. He also added that nobody can be allowed to take law in their hands.
On Cow Protection
On being asked about cow protection in Uttar Pradesh, CM Adityanath told the news channel that cows are treated like ‘mothers’ in most Hindu-majority states in India and therefore must be protected.
“Most of the states have laws against cow slaughter hence we cannot permit cow slaughter in Uttar Pradesh,” he told Times Now, adding that, there is 'Ram Rajya, not Jungle Raj' in Uttar Pradesh.

On Deoria Rapes
Commenting on the Deroia shelter home case, Adityanath said nothing like Muzaffarpur happened with the girls in Deoria and that the probe initiated by the state has not revealed anything suspicious.
Nothing happened with the girls in Deoria. The case is being investigated by the high court. The girl who complained about this case was someone who had eloped from Bihar and she said that girls from that shelter home were being taken outside.Yogi Adityanath to Times Now
“The girl is in custody. I had myself appointed a team to probe the case, with two efficient women officers of Additional Chief Secretary and another of ADG police level to submit a report in the case. Nothing came out,” the chief minister said.
On Opposition Unity
The BJP leader further expressed confidence of the party’s win in 2019, citing absence of an agenda among opposition parties. He told the news channel,“The Opposition does not have any agenda, as a result of which they have been resorting to the politics of negativity and hatred.”
