The head of NASA on Tuesday, 2 April, branded the destruction of one of India’s satellites under Mission Shakti a “terrible thing” that created 400 pieces of orbital debris and led to new dangers for astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
However former Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) chief Dr VK Saraswat has called the observation “speculative”.
