Medanta’s Air Ambulance From Delhi Crash-Lands in Thailand, 1 Dead

The crash resulted in a fire which caused the death of the pilot.

Medanta Hospital’s air ambulance with five-member crew crash-landed in Thailand on Sunday resulting in the death of one pilot.

The air ambulance was on route to Bangkok from Delhi when it crash-landed at Nakhon Pathom airport about 730 km from Bangkok, The Times of India reported. The crew included two pilots and three doctors from Medanta Hospital.

The crash resulted in a fire which caused the death of the pilot. Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, said that Dr Shailendra and Dr Komal were in the ICU. The other two had also sustained minor injuries.

Swaraj said that the injured were being shifted to Bangkok Hospital by Army Helicopters.

The aircraft, Pilatus PC 12 (VT-AVG), belonged to Delhi-based charter company, Air Charter Services, The Times of India report suggested.
