The Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday nabbed six, including the main accused, for killing two jewellery traders in Mathura on 15 May.
Six armed robbers had barged into the jewellery shop and opened fire, which killed Vikas Agarwal and Megh Agarwal. Two others were injured in the incident and were taken to hospital, police had informed. The accused had escaped with gold worth Rs 4 crore.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the arrests were made after an encounter between the cops and the gangsters in Choubeyapada, where they had been hiding since the night of the incident.
Four police officials were suspended after the killings and jewellers across the state observed a day-long strike on Friday to protest against the lack of action in the case.
