The Communist Party of India (Maoist), in a press release on Wednesday, linked the murder of activist-journalist Gauri Lankesh to the “Sangh Parivar”, and called for like-minded people to hit the streets for a “determined fight” against those who killed her.
The party termed the murder a “propoganda by Hindu fascist forces”, reported The Indian Express.
According to the report, the CPI (Maoist) claimed that Lankesh was under the radar of ‘Hindutva Forces’ ever since she helped in the translation and publishing of the Kannada-version of Rana Ayyub’s controversial Gujarat Files.
The party strongly condemns the murder of Leftist, pro-people, progressive and democratic journalist Gauri Lankesh by Brahminical fascist goons of the Sangh Parivar protected by the BJP government at the Centre. The party appeals to all like-minded forces to hit the streets for a determined fight against the forces that killed Lankesh.Abhay, spokesperson CPI (Maoist)
The party also questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Lankesh's death, and said that it was an indication of “their lowly and dirty act” to have her brother Indrajit Lankesh to link her death to Maoist forces, said the report.
CPI(Maoist) called for “symbolic protests against fascist Hindutva forces” by the progressive communities of the country.
