Asim Siddiqui, a 22-year-old man, lost his life as he was run over by a truck while trying to avoid a pothole in Shil-Daighar area of Thane, Mumbai, on Tuesday, 15 October.
The police said the accident took place at around 10:30 pm when Asim, who is a resident of Tanwar Nagar in Mumbra, had gone out to get petrol filled in his scooter.
A case has been registered against the truck owner, the police added.
Javed Siddiqui, Asim's father, told Mumbai Mirror, “Around 11 pm, I was informed about the incident that my son was serious after being injured in an accident on Shil-Mumbra road.”
Asim was rushed to the Kalsekar hospital in Kaunsa, Mumbra, and later shifted to Criti-Care Hospital, Thane, but lost his life on Wednesday morning.
Javed also said he found his scooter parked at the spot.
The cops are, however, still searching for the truck owner.
