West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on 30 May, 'recaptured' an office that had a the BJP party symbol and name on it, in North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, reported ANI. A video shows her using a paint brush to paint the Trinamool Congress symbol on the walls of the building.
The workers can also be seen attempting to break the lock.
According to the TMC, the building was allegedly captured by the supporters of BJP MP Arjun Singh who had fought and won the Barrackpore constituency, reported ANI.
Mamata had earlier asked party workers to ‘recapture’ offices occupied by the BJP.
Both parties are now allegedly capturing and recapturing each other’s offices in several districts across the state.
Mamata had earlier criticised people chanting 'Jai Shri Ram', alleging that they were "outsiders". The BJP in response had announced that it would send her 10 lakh postcards with Jai Shri Ram written on it.
This follows a violent election season in the state with BJP making a massive dent by winning 18 of the 42 seats and cutting the TMC's share down to 22, down from 34 in the 2014 elections.
