India witnessed the total lunar eclipse also know as the blood moon for approximately 1 hour 43 minutes. The partial eclipse of the moon began at 11:54 pm Indian Standard Time on 27 July.

The eclipse was also visible from other parts of the world – Australia, Asia, Russia, Europe, east of South America and Antarctica.

People across India couldn’t contain their excitement and took to Twitter to express themselves. Reactions from across the world were equally ecstatic.
