A balloon with a message written in Urdu threatening India of dire consequences was found in a field on Tuesday at Tibba village in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, police said.
"The message in Urdu read 'India has to face the consequences'. It was written on a piece of cloth, which was tied to the balloon," said Romesh Kumar, who found the balloon in his field.
It was found on the Himachal Pradesh-Punjab border.
Villagers in Rajouri district found shells near there houses and farms after the shelling.
Local journalist was also injured in the heavy shelling.
People had to stay in make shift tents on Tuesday night because of the shelling.
Pakistani army continues to fire intermittently in Naushera sector of the LoC. The Indian army has been firing in retaliation.
Shelter camps were set up for people along the border.
