‘Modi Disrespected the Country by Listening to No One But Himself’

Gandhi said the effort that was put into breaking the back of the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir made UPA proud.

Despite those rigorous efforts made by the UPA during their tenure, Gandhi continued, Modi did not bother to consult anybody in the army or his own ministry when he made a stop in Pakistan to drink chai with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.

Gandhi maintained that in doing this, Modi disrespected the country and “destroyed the conversation with the country’s citizens”.

‘Naga Accord Gone With the Wind, Bye Bye Accord’

Gandhi informed the Lok Sabha that once the Prime Minister had told the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi that he had solved the Nagaland crisis, which left her befuddled since she hadn’t been briefed by the Chief Minister.

On calling them, Gandhi said that the Chief Minister or the Home Ministry didn’t have any knowledge of it.

And where has the Naga peace accord gone now? Gone with the wind?

‘PM Modi Slammed MNREGA, Now Budget Mentions Only MNREGA’

Gandhi also accused Modi of criticising the MNREGA scheme and calling it “a failure which destroyed the nation”, when the UPA was in power and then allotting money to the same scheme and calling it a success.

When money was allotted to MGNREGA, I closed my eyes and thought it was Chidambaram presenting Budget.

‘Budget Fair and Lovely Scheme: How to Turn Black Money to White Money’

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi attacks BJP and the prime minister in Lok Sabha over black money in Lok Sabha.

Rahul said, “Under fair and lovely yojna, you can go to Arun Jaitley, pay tax and all your black money will turn white”.

‘PM hasn’t Spoken to Vemula’s Family Even Once’

He also criticised PM Modi’s silence in the aftermath of Rohith Vemula’s death and JNUSU President, Kanhaiya Kumar’s arrest. He said:

Why was a Hindustani youth’s life cut short? Modi didn’t even call Rohith’s mother. Kanhaiya didn’t speak a word against India, but you arrested him and you questioned JNU. Why are you after JNU?

He said that JNU was being targeted because “40 percent of the students of JNU are from backward classes, whose parents earn less than Rs 6,000”.

Rahul Gandhi also raised the issue of the assault on teachers, students and journalists alike in Patiala House Court. “Why did the prime minister remain silent when students and media persons were attacked,” he asked.

‘PM is Not The Country, Country is Not The PM’

He also spoke about the black flags that were waved at him by ABVP members when he visited the JNU campus.

When I salute the flag, I don’t salute the cloth. I salute the relationship that it reflects among the people. Respecting the flag means respecting the opinions of other people. You are not defending the flag when you are threatening your people in silence.
Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice President

Rahul also attacked the prime minister accusing him of not listening to his own MPs and Cabinet.

He said, “Whose opinion does the Prime Minister respect? You have been taught by your teachers in the RSS that there’s only one truth in the universe – your own. This is all you have shown us in the last two years. The country is not the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is not the country”.
