Leopard Strolling Outside Thane Mall Caught From Hotel Basement

The big cat was caught after five hours of search.

A leopard was seen leaving the Korum Mall in Thane around 5:30 am on Wednesday, 20 February, reported Hindustan Times. After more than five hours, police officers and forest officials caught the big cat from the basement of Hotel Satkar Residency.

The images of the leopard’s movement in the parking area were caught on the CCTV camera installed at the exit gate.

The police, fire brigade and forest officials arrived after receiving information but by then the leopard had moved to the basement of Hotel Satkar Residency at Cadbury Junction in Thane.

After about five hours of search, the officials managed to tranquilise and rescue the leopard.

“The leopard which was spotted moving towards the Vasant Vihar residential area in Thane was trapped by forest department in the basement of Satkar hotel. The leopard entered from the hotel’s rear entrance and was spotted by a member of the hotel’s security team,” a police official from Vartak Nagar police station told Hindustan Times.
