3 Trinamool Activists Shot Dead
Three Trinamool Congress activists were shot dead in South 24-Parganas district on Thursday, 13 December evening when gunmen attacked the vehicle of a party MLA, police said.
Motorbike borne assailants attacked the three persons when they, including the driver of the vehicle, were at a petrol pump in Joynagar area.
The incident occurred shortly after Biswanath Das, the MLA, disembarked from the vehicle at a party office nearby.
The police started an investigation into the killing detained a few people for questioning.
Das alleged that CPI(M) goons were behind the incident, but the left party leader Sujan Chakraborty claimed that the shootout was the result of internal feud of the ruling Trinamool Congress.
Brijendra Pal Singh Appointed as FTII President
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has nominated Brijendra Pal Singh, current Vice Chairman of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Governing Council, has been as the new President of FTII Society and Chairman of Governing Council.
He has been the director/producer of popular TV show ’CID’ and has also produced horror show ‘Aahat’. and also He is replacing Anupam Kher for both the posts.
Kerala's One Film Wonder Ajayan Dead
Ajayan, who shot into fame with the only film that he directed "Perunthachen" (master carpenter), died here on Thursday, said his colleague and veteran character actor Nedumudi Venu.
Ajayan breathed his last at a private hospital here after a cardiac arrest, Venu said. He is survived by his wife and two children.

US President Trump Denies Directing Lawyer Cohen to Break Law
US President Donald Trump on Thursday said that he denied president’s former lawyer Michael Cohen to break law. Cohen was sentenced three years of prison for crimes including tax evasion, lying to Congress and arranging illicit payments to silence women who posed a risk to Trump’s presidential campaign.
