1. Man Arrested for Raping, Murdering 6-Year-Old
A 20-year-old man was arrested on Friday, 22 March, for allegedly raping and murdering a six-year-old girl. The accused who is a resident of Bihar committed the crime during Holi celebrations.
Balanagar DCP PV Padmaja said, "The accused has confessed to committing the crime during interrogation. The weapon used (to murder) has also been recovered. The accused came to Hyderabad two months ago and was living here with his relatives."
The police received a complaint on Thursday, 21 March, night from the girl's father. The complainant said that his daughter who had gone out to play Holi has not returned yet and requested for necessary action.

2. TNGO Union Suspends Wakf Board Unit Over Protest
Conflict between employees and chairman Mohd Saleem of the Wakf Board took a new turn on Friday, 22 March, as the district unit of the Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers’ Union has decided to suspend the ad hoc unit of the board.
Employees of the Wakf Board had protested against Mr Saleem for allegedly manhandling a suspended employee. The board had suspended the officer of the rank of inspector and auditor Syed Ibrahim for allegedly communicating with a top official of the stamps and registration department in connection with a piece of land in Adilabad district.

3. Engineering Student Run Over by RTC Bus
A student pursuing her engineering at a private college in Boduppal was mowed down by a speeding RTC bus at Uppal on Friday, 22 March.
According to Uppal police, Sneha, 21, a final year engineering student at Holy Mary Institute of Technology, was heading home from the college on her two-wheeler along with her friend C Shruthi on Friday evening from Medipally.
When the bike reached Gandhi statue at Uppal, an RTC bus (AP28 Z 3417) hit the the bike from the rear.

4. Telangana Rashtra Samiti Man Builds on ‘Non-Existent Land’
The government’s response to an RTI query says that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti’s Nalgonda candidate, Vemireddy Narsimha Reddy, who represents the Kaushik Co-operative Building Society, has been constructing a building for which permission is not found in government records.
The alleged illegal construction is underway on a prime property in Banjara Hills Road No. 12, on Survey No 129/68 Paiki.
An RTI was filed at the Nampally collectorate seeking details of whether SY No. 129/68 exists in Banjara Hills, the extent of land in survey number 129/68, the owner of the land as per government records and the road number on which the land is located.

5. BJP Govt Too Much of Publicity, Very Less on Delivery: Kavitha
The BJP-led government only supported "people" and states where the Amit Shah-led party was in alliance, and the NDA rule was "too much of publicity and very less on delivery", a key TRS leader alleged Friday, 22 March.
Nizamabad Lok Sabha member K Kavitha, also daughter of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, also sought to ridicule the BJP's new slogan "Modi Hai to Mumkin Hai" (Modi makes it possible).
