1. Probe on Into Death of CM's Cousin Due to Ambulance 'Delay'
The Gujarat government has ordered an inquiry into allegation that delayed arrival of an '108' ambulance resulted into the death of a cousin of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, officials said on Wednesday, 9 October.
The CM's sexagenarian cousin Anilbhai Sanghvi died at his residence in Rajkot on 4 October following breathlessness. He was son of Rupani's aunt (mother's sister).
According to BJP leaders, family members of the deceased complained to the chief minister about the delay in arrival of the emergency ambulance during his visit to Sanghvi's residence on Tuesday, 8 October.

2. Two Accidents in Panchmahal, Bharuch Kill 6
Six persons died in two different accidents on Tuesday night (8 October) and Wednesday morning (9 October) in Panchmahal and Bharuch respectively.
In the first accident, three persons died when two bikes collided near Chhanip village under Shehera Taluka of Panchmahal on Tuesday night. According to police, five persons were returning from a Garba event in Chandalgarh temple of Shehera in Panchmahal when their speeding bikes collided.
All five injured were rushed to a private hospital in Vadodara where a team of doctors declared three brought dead.
In the second accident, three persons were killed and as many others injured when the car they were travelling in overturned near Rundh village in Bharuch district on Wednesday.

3. Crorepati Candidates in Gujarat Bypolls: Builders, Businessmen and a Junior Clerk
Real-estate developers, a businessman, and a junior clerk in a village school are among the crorepati candidates contesting in the upcoming by-elections to six assembly seats in Gujarat on 21 October.
Congress’ Radhanpur candidate is builder Raghunath Desai, among the wealthiest of those in the fray, with assets of over Rs 100 crore. Desai and his family own five cars, a revolver costing Rs 5 lakh and agricultural land in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Patan and Mehsana districts.
The most crucial fight of these bypolls is expected to be between him and BJP candidate Alpesh Thakor who left the Congress after cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha polls earlier this year. Alpesh and his family own assets of over Rs 2 crore.

4. ‘Gang Leader’ in 18 Theft Cases in Ahmedabad Held
The local crime branch arrested a man allegedly involved in over 18 cases of theft of vehicles and valuables inside houses in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
According to police, the accused, identified as 24-year-old Manmohan Singh, a resident of sector 13 in Gandhinagar, allegedly leads a four-member gang involved in thefts of bikes, cars and valuables from houses in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.
“The accused along with Sajan Singh, Bobby Singh and Satpal Singh works in a gang and is involved in 12 cases of thefts inside houses, five cases of bike theft and one case of Maruti Zen car theft. He was arrested on Tuesday night near Jamalpur and we have recovered the stolen car and valuables worth Rs 75,000 from him. The search for his accomplices is going on,” said BV Gohil, assistant commissioner of police, Crime Branch.

5. Kevadiya to Host Conference of Energy Ministers on 11 October
Energy ministers from various states and Union Territories (UTs) would converge at Kevadiya near Sardar Sarovar dam in Gujarat's Narmada district on 11 October to participate in a two-day conference on issues related to power and energy.
Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy RK Singh would inaugurate the event, Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabh Patel told reporters in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.
At least 250 delegates are expected to attend the event, which has been jointly organised by the government of Gujarat and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, he said.
