1. Another Day of Orange Alert in Ahmedabad, Temperature Likely to Soar
Amdavadis are advised to stay indoors as the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has once again issued an orange alert in the city. The alert is issued when temperatures reaches or goes beyond 44 degree Celsius. An AMC official said that there has been an orange alert in city since last Sunday. "More or less for almost a week now the city has been on orange alert," said the official.
The 108 emergency service till 5 pm in the evening responded to 126 heat related cases across the city. In all the the service had seen 190 cases on Sunday. Of the total number of calls it attended to maximum pertained to people falling unconscious due to the heat.
The city on Monday. 3 June, recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius, three degree above normal while the minimum temperature was 28.4 degree Celsius, a degree above normal. The Met department has predicted that temperatures will continue to be around 44 degree Celsius on Tuesday too.

2. Dalit Tied to a Tree, Bootlegger Held for Assault: Gujarat Cops
Police on Monday, 3 June detained a bootlegger and booked him for allegedly assaulting a Dalit man after tying him to a tree at Arnivada village of Kankrej taluka in Banaskantha district. The police action came after a video of the incident went viral on social media on Monday.
The accused in the case has been identified as Bhailuji Solanki, while the victim has been identified as Rakesh Parmar.
Based on a complaint lodged by Rakesh’s father, Bachubhai, at Sihori police station, a case has been registered against the bootlegger, who belongs to an upper caste, under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

3. ‘Dalit Teen Killed for Trying to Get Bail of His Father’s Killer Cancelled’
Rajesh Sondarva — the teenage son of Dalit RTI activist, murdered a year ago — was clubbed to death allegedly by a group of upper-caste Kshatriya men in Rajkot district on 22 May as he had been trying to get the bail of one of those, accused of murdering his father, cancelled and was not ready for a compromise in old cases, CID-Crime has revealed. Meanwhile, a local court in Gondal town sent four of the eight accused in Rajesh’s murder case to judicial custody Monday, 3 June.
“Rajesh noticed that one of those accused of murdering his father was roaming freely in his village, despite having secured bail on the condition that he would not enter the district. He moved the court and this apparently incensed the accused, leading to Rajesh’s murder,” an officer, who is privy to the investigation, said on the condition of anonymity.
The 19-year-old Dalit was allegedly intercepted by the group of men while he, along with a friend, Milan Parmar, was returning home in Manekvada village in Kotda Sangani taluka from Rajkot city and clubbed to death in the wee hours of 22 May.

4. Railway Ministry: No Link Between Hawker’s Arrest and His Video
After uproar over the arrest of a train hawker whose video mocking politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was circulated widely on social media, the Railway Ministry on Monday said there was no connection between Avdhesh Dubey’s arrest and his video as seven more people were arrested along with him from Surat railway station on Friday as part of a drive against illegal hawkers. Moreover, he was a habitual offender, Railways said.
On Friday, 30-year-old Dubey was convicted by a mobile railway court and sentenced to 10-day simple imprisonment for selling articles on trains without licence, committing nuisance or using abusive or obscene language, unlawful entry, among other charges.

5. Two Inspectors Face Suspension in the City
Two inspector's of the Ahmedabad Police department were suspended for failing in their duties. by the DGP Shivanand Jha after the State Monitoring Cell seized liquor from their respected jurisdiction.
As per officials, PB Chauhan, posted as inspector of Sola police station and MB Zala, inspector of Satellite police station were suspended on Monday.
The decision was taken after the State Monitoring Cell seized a total of Rs 29.31lakh worth of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) from Sola and Satellite police jurisdiction. Both inspectors were suspended by the DGP after observing negligence their duty
