A four-storey dilapidated building in central Kolkata's Burrabazaar area, the biggest wholesale hub of eastern India, collapsed on Tuesday, killing three members of a family. The three victims – an aged couple and their middle-aged daughter – were trapped inside a room when the building collapsed, the police said.

1 Dead in Burrabazaar Building Collapse
One person was killed in the building collapse in central Kolkata's Burrabazar area on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Tara Prasanna Saha, a 94-year-old.
Sobha Rani Saha (84) and her daughter Beauty (56) were critically injured in the mishap. The injured have been transferred to a hospital for treatment.
The cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained. According to reports, Kolkata Municipal Corporation workers have been deployed at the spot. Rescue operations are underway.
