Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju sparked a fresh controversy on Monday with his remark about a Kargil martyr’s daughter, Gurmehar Kaur, who had earlier lashed out at ABVP’s violence outside Ramjas College in a Facebook post.
Commenting on a previous post by her where she is seen holding a placard that reads “Pakistan did not kill my dad, war killed him”, the minister tweeted:
Kaur launched a social media campaign called #StudentsAgainstABVP after which she was branded an ‘anti-national’ and has even received death and rape threats.
She has now reportedly filed a complaint with the Delhi Commission For Women.
The Minister faced serious flak for his remark from fellow Twitterati.
