Often seen portraying a villain in reel life, noted Malayalam actor Sreejith Ravi, became a real life villain on Thursday when he was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with school girls in Palakaad.
A court in Palakkad gave him conditional bail and asked him to surrender his passport, IANS reported. He was asked to furnish two sureties and Rs 1 lakh.
The arrest was made after the girls alleged that the 40-year-old actor parked his car close to the school, indecently exposed himself to them and took their photo in his mobile.
The complainants had not named the actor, but had only mentioned the vehicle number in the complaint.
The police confirmed that the number of the car provided by the girls did belong to the actor and he was arrested under Section 509 of IPC (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of women) from a film shooting location at Ottapalam on Thursday.
The actor, however, denied all allegations levied against him. Though he admitted that the vehicle number mentioned in the complaint is his, he said that the girls may have taken down the wrong number.
