The current alleged corruption issue concerning Rajendra Kumar, the principal secretary of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, just got murkier.

According to reports, the Indian wing of global anti-corruption watchdog Transparency International (TI) reportedly sent a warning letter in May this year to Kejriwal about alleged corruption involving Kumar.

There has been no response from Kejriwal’s office till date, as claimed by Ashutosh Mishra, the executive director of the TI India.

The letter pointed out that Kumar was appointed in different organisations where certain companies were favoured, with contracts being awarded to them.

Copies of the letter were also sent to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Najeeb Jung, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of India Pranab Mukherjee and the chief vigilance commissioner, K V Chowdary.

Kumar, an IAS officer, was charged with criminal conspiracy and misconduct by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
