Kashmiri NCC Cadet Selected for Army Officer’s Training in Chennai

In a special case, a Kashmiri boy has been selected for training as a Commissioned Officer in the Army directly in view of his extraordinary performance in the NCC as a cadet.

The son of a daily wage labourer, Javeed Ahmad Parrey, is on his way to fulfil his dream of becoming an Indian Army officer.

NCC Cadet Javeed Ahmad Parrey, hailing from Bandipora district, has made the entire (Kashmir) valley proud by being selected to undergo training for Commissioned Officer in Indian Army...Parrey joined the NCC in 2011 and with hard work and selfless dedication, he made his way to this success by undergoing NCC training and qualifying for ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate under NCC Group Headquarters Srinagar.

Parrey is the only NCC cadet from Jammu and Kashmir to be selected for the 39th course of NCC Special Entry Scheme for Officers Training Academy, Chennai.

As per reports, Parrey is a cadet from NCC’s 1 J&K Naval Unit and had represented J&K during the Republic Day Camp (RDC) in 2014.

The spokesperson added that the NCC Group Headquarter Srinagar is confident that this particular success will make the body more popular among the youth of Kashmir valley and more students will come forward to join the NCC.
