A new political crisis has begun in Karnataka after two Independent MLAs withdrew their support from the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition. This comes a day after the ruling coalition accused the BJP of trying to poach their MLAs. While the Congress pointed that five of its lawmakers were “missing,” the BJP flew its 104 MLAs to a resort in Gurugram.

In what has been termed ‘Operation Lotus 3.0,’ the BJP has been accused of trying to destabilise the state government before the general elections.
