What do you want to be when you grow up? Well, if you’re not sure if you want to stick to doing just one thing for the rest of your life, you’re not alone.

If you’ve ever finished reading a book and immediately found yourself wishing you could at the same time, go out for coffee or meet a friend for wine or seek spiritual counsel or go shoe shopping, this series of literary talks might just be the quick fix you need.

In order to bring together people with inspiring stories, and young minds who seek guidance, Delhi-based Shobhit Banga, 21 and Supriya Paul, 22, co-founded Josh Talks in 2014.

The organisation evolved into a platform where people from diverse backgrounds of art, sport, entrepreneurship, social activism, stand-up comedy and more come together and share with an audience, their life stories and personal experiences.

From your best friend to the interesting stranger you saw on the streets, everyone has traversed their own unique path to be who they are today. Stories bind us as humans, enthral us through the journeys they take us on, and offer what we, as a curious race, seek – an insight into another person’s mind. Stories are powerful.

Saluting the spirit of the people who have a range of interests and jobs over one lifetime and who quit cushy jobs to take the road less travelled, The Quint decided to partner with Josh Talks to showcase some of these stories.

Josh Talks is set to host the sixth edition of its event in Delhi on October 30. The line-up of speakers will include people from diverse backgrounds including entrepreneurs, activists, sportsmen, artists, musicians and stand-up comedians.

Their earlier events have seen eminent personalities like actor Boman Irani, comedian Papa CJ, Founder of OYO Rooms Arunima Sinha, gay rights activist Harish Iyer, among others.
