The paper reported that Jitendra Tomar met the agent from Munger through his brother PS Tomar.
Tomar revealed that he approached his brother who was an advocate to help get a degree since he was unable to clear exams being poor academically. His brother then introduced him to Vinod who helped him get the degree without actually enrolling for the said course.

The source-based report said that Tomar had confessed to choosing this path since he’d wanted a career in politics. Being academically weak, however, he’d had to rely on procuring fake degrees – which he now said was a mistake.
According to sources, Tomar first procured the B.Sc degree in the year 2001 and then the LLB degree from Munger, his questioning revealed.
