Trinamool Congress (TMC) parliamentary party leader Derek O'Brien on Thursday, 12 December, moved a Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha, over the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry's advisories to TV channels, news agency ANI reported.
The I&B Ministry had, on Wednesday, issued an advisory, asking all news channels to refrain from inflammatory content.
The I&B Ministry has advised news channels to be particularly cautious with regard to any content which:
- Is likely to encourage or incite violence or contains anything against maintenance of law and order or which promotes anti-national attitudes.
- Contains anything affecting the integrity of the nation and ensure that no such content is telecast which is violative of these codes.

"All private satellite TV channels are requested to ensure strict compliance of the above," the I&B Ministry said.
