The Sheena Bora murder case just got murkier, with the prime accused Indrani Mukerjea overdosing on pills. The dean of JJ Hospital, TP Lahane has confirmed that Indrani was brought in at 2 pm and has been unconscious since then. The dean has also said that Indrani likely overdosed on anti-epilepsy medication but is stable for now.

Meanwhile, The Indian Express’ reporter hints at the role of anti-depression pills.

DNA reports about what the JJ Hospital dean said about treatment meted out to Indrani:

On television channels and social media, there are questions as to how Indrani got hold of the pills and whether this is just a question of incompetence by the authorities or a conspiracy to protect powerful people who may have been involved in the murder of Sheena Bora.

This case seems to be following the Sunanda Pushkar pattern. A woman who has been inconvenient to powerful people allegedly commits suicide... I find that hard to believe. The public will also not buy this version.

There are also questions about the way the case has been handled. Why wasn’t Indrani Mukerjea under careful watch, given the seriousness of the allegations against her?

The version of events given by the authorities and the hospital is also conflicting. The dean of the JJ hospital initially said that Indrani was admitted to hospital after complaining of chest pain. He later claimed that she was brought to the hospital unconscious.
