Soon after the ceremony, many users took to twitter admiring their attire.

Here's how netizens reacted to the economists get-up for the event.

After Amartya Sen, Banerjee is the second Indian Economist to win a Nobel Prize in the field. He, along with wife Esther, teaches economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. While Kremer is an economics professor at Harvard University.

The trio’s research, for the past two decades, revolved around finding reliable answers to alleviate global poverty.
