1. Three-Year-Old Raped by Maternal Uncle in Outer Delhi

A three-year old girl was allegedly raped by her maternal uncle in outer Delhi's Paschim Vihar, following which the accused was arrested, police said on Friday.

According to the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), the incident happened when the girl was playing with the accused's six-year-old daughter outside his house.

2. Raigad: 6 Held for Running Prostitution Racket

Six persons have been arrested for running a prostitution racket in Raigad. Six women, including B-town models, were rescued from a rented bungalow in Kihim, police said. Drugs were seized from the accused, they added.

Raigad SP Anil Paraskar said the accused and the rescued women were traced on Thursday. “We contacted two women, who supplied women. We then sent a decoy customer and managed to trap them all,” he added.

3. JMM Leader Held for ‘Obscene’ FB Post on Goddess Durga

The police on Thursday night arrested Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s (JMM) West Singhbhum district unit president, Bhuvneswar Mahato, for allegedly sharing an obscene and objectionable post on Goddess Durga on his Facebook page, which triggered widespread anger among Durga Puja committees and Hindu community in Chakradharpur town of West Singhbhum district.

“We arrested Bhuvneswar Mahato last night after an FIR was lodged by BJP leader Sanjay Mishra and members of Durga Puja committees who were protesting at the police station. On Friday morning, we sent the accused to jail.

5. Bengal Man, 35, Throws Acid on Niece for Rejecting Proposal

A 35-year-old man threw acid on his distant niece seriously injuring her, after she refused his sexual advances in Nadia district of West Bengal, the police said today.

The incident happened on Thursday night when the 25-year-old victim, who lives with her parents and her five-year-old son, was sleeping.

4. Delhi Man ‘Poisons’ Wife, Suspected Live-In Partner; Escapes

Two women were found dead at a locked house in southeast Delhi’s Jaitpur on Thursday morning.

Police said the prime suspect is the 35-year-old husband of one of the women, and is absconding with their 12-year-old son. Police suspect that the second woman was living with the family as the man’s live-in partner.

6. Bengaluru: 2 Immigration Bureau Men Accused in Trafficking Case

A Bengaluru Police probe into the trafficking of Nepali women to the Middle East has found that two key immigration officers, on deputation to the Bureau of Immigration from the Central Intelligence Bureau, had ensured a human trafficking gang safe passage allegedly for Rs 15,000 per woman.

Police have now written to the Ministry of Home Affairs seeking its sanction to prosecute the two IB officials working at the Kempegowda International Airport, Assistant Foreigners Regional Registration Officer L T Deepak (39) and his assistant Shailendra Kumar (29). In the chargesheet, police have named the IB officers as key facilitators.

7. Woman Who Alleged Rape Attacked by 3 Men Ahead of Court Hearing: Cops

A 28-year-old rape survivor was allegedly assaulted at Greater Noida by three men who also attempted to strangulate her, a day ahead of the hearing in the rape case in a local court, officials said on Thursday.

The woman, who worked in a private educational institute in the Knowledge Park area, was picked up by the assailants in a car on Wednesday, the police officials said.

8. Former Journalist Molested in Mumbai, Man Arrested

A former journalist, who was out on her morning walk, was allegedly molested by a 30-year-old man at Carter Road in Bandra on Friday. The Khar police later arrested the accused a few metres away from the spot. The accused is a resident of a slum in Santacruz and works as a mason.

According to the police, the woman was walking on the promenade around 6.30am when the accused, Naushad Ahmed, obstructed her path. She ignored him at first, but when he repeatedly kept coming in her way, she confronted him and told him to walk properly.

9. DPCC Cracks Down on 13 Illegal Polluting Units in North Delhi Villages

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has sealed 13 polluting units operating without permission from authorities in rural areas of North Delhi.

The pollution control body has also imposed a fine of Rs 11.42 crore on these units.
