After around 12 people were killed in various incidents of flooding and wall collapses in Maharashtra’s Pune district, visuals of inundated localities crowded with damaged vehicles emerged on Thursday, 26 September.
Around 10,500 people from several water-logged areas were shifted to safer places following heavy showers in the district on Wednesday, officials said, PTI reported.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that he was pained to know about the loss of life due to the rains in Pune and added that teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were deployed in the city and Baramati tehsil.
Schools and colleges in various tehsils of Pune declared holiday on Thursday in view of the deluge.
