The debriefing of IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was completed on Thursday, 14 March, news agency ANI quoted IAF sources as saying.
The report added that the officer will go on sick leave for a few weeks on the advice of doctors at Army’s Research and Referral Hospital, where he was admitted after his return from Pakistan.
A medical review board, in the near future, will reportedly assess the Wing Commander’s fitness and decide whether he can go back to flying fighter jets.
Varthaman was captured by Pakistan after his plane was shot down during an aerial combat on 27 March in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack. He was released on 1 March.
Tensions between India and Pakistan flared up after a suicide bomber of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror group killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel in Kashmir's Pulwama district on 14 February.
